UNEMPLOYMENT NUMBERS SHOW IMPROVEMENT IN FIVE COUNTIES SERVED BY CRWDB: Calhoun, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty and Washington County combined to show a 1.4% decrease in unemployment over the last year. Over the last twelve months all five counties showed a decrease in the unemployment rate ranging from 1.9% in Calhoun and Washington Counties to 1.5% in Holmes County. The level of employment increased by 503 from February through March 2013 with each county showing an increase in the number of employed individuals. For more information click here.

HOLMES COUNTY HIGH TEAM WINS 2013 ROBOTICS CONTEST: Tech No Logic from Holmes County High School won the 2013 CRWDB Robotics contest as well as the Log Book contest. The contest was held March 21 at the Old Marianna High School Gym and fourteen teams from across the region competed. A press release about the event can be found at this link.

CAREER RESOURCE CENTER OPENS AT CHIPOLA COLLEGE: Chipola College and the CRWDB have partnered together to open a Career Resource Center on the campus of Chipola College located in the college's Workforce Development Building.  The center will be staffed two days a week to work directly with Chipola students focusing on helping them understand the skills and training sought by employers.  Some services to be offered include Job Search, Resume Assistance, Interview Preparation and Interest Surveys.  For additional information read the press release by clicking here.

CRWDB TEAMS WITH MONSTER.COM TO INCREASE DATABASE OF JOB SEEKERS: The CRWDB has added the ability to search the Monster.com database of job seekers to our toolbox in an effort to help employers find just the right candidate for the job. Employers listing jobs at www.employflorida.com in our five county region will benefit by having a One Stop staff member that searches Monster. com for matches on hard to fill job orders.
